The Oregon Biodiversity Information Center hosted our Oregon Rare Plant and Fungi meeting on Thursday March 19, 2026 at 9 am – 3 pm. The purpose of the meeting was to share our proposed changes to the lists (adds, drops, name changes, status changes) and for regional botanists and mycologists to share with us their comments and suggestions. The meeting was held in person at OSU and via Zoom in a hybrid format. Comments and recommendations on changes to our botany and mycology lists can still be made to [email protected].
Oregon Biodiversity Information Center is housed in the Institute for Natural Resources at Portland State and Oregon State Universities. The Oregon Biodiversity Information Center's (ORBIC) primary mission is to track the distribution and status of Oregon’s flora, fauna, and funga and we manage location and population data for all species considered to be at-risk in Oregon. Information from these meetings is used to update the lists in ORBIC’s “Rare, Threatened and Endangered Species of Oregon” book to be published in 2026.
We are sharing a list of species that will be discussed at this meeting. If you have any comments about species on that list, please provide them at the end of the registration form. If you would like to suggest a species to discuss that is not on the list, and not already in the ORBIC Rare Plant and Fungi + non-vascular plant books from 2023, please provide information about that species to [email protected].
For each species please include:
- Species scientific name
- Proposed change (add or drop)
- Pre-meeting comments (reason for proposing this change)
- Location information for the species
- Name of Sponsor(s) with contact info
- Relevant references
Please submit any questions to [email protected].
We appreciate your interest and comments.
