Forest Landscapes

INR’s Forest Landscapes Program supports forest managers and policymakers with our expertise in analyzing, synthesizing, and sharing natural resource information. We work on a wide variety of forest-related issues, including water, wildfire, climate change, biodiversity, and social and economic impacts. INR has developed techniques for mapping broad-scale landscape vegetation and for modeling forest and arid lands vegetation into the future under different management and environmental conditions. The links below demonstrate how our work supports research, planning, and management activities of the USDA Forest Service, the Oregon Department of Forestry, and various interorganizational initiatives.
