Max is a Wildlife Biologist whose research interests include the breeding biology and conservation of aridland birds. He is currently working with INR to investigate lek dynamics of Greater Sage-Grouse in eastern Oregon.

In addition to his work with INR, Max conducts assessments of stream and wetland ecosystems for the U.S. Forest Service, writes about Pacific Northwest birds for Timber Press, and is a volunteer environmental educator with the Audubon Society of Portland.
