  Summaries of the Breakout Group Discussions at the Impacts of Climate Change on the Pacific Northwest Meeting |
| |
Breakout groups were formed around four topic areas: terrestrial ecosystems;
marine ecosystems; water resources; and the Pacific Northwest as a system. While in breakout groups,
meeting participants were asked to address the following questions:
- What are scenarios for climate change in the Pacific Northwest in the next 10-50 years? Are we looking at changes in mean conditions, range of conditions, degree of variability or other factors?
- What do you consider to be areas of scientific consensus about those climate change scenarios and their impacts?
- What do you see as the greatest uncertainties affecting our ability to understand and predict likely climate change? Can you identify what is required to reduce those uncertainties?
- What are the five most pressing questions (scientific, management, or policy) that your group would like to see answered?
