Maria has a joint appointment with the OSU Institute for Water and Watersheds (IWW) where she provides research and project management support for water resources projects. Her current focus is with the Oregon team of the Urban Water Innovations Network, an NSF-funded research consortium addressing challenges for urban water management. From 2010-2016, Maria was the project coordinator for Willamette Water 2100, a project that modeled future water supply and demand in the Willamette River basin. Maria also provides web and outreach support for INR and IWW. She has a background in geology and geomorphology and worked as a hydrologist for the USGS in Columbia, Missouri before coming to OSU in 2001.
